Your IELTS exam preparation might be essential for your future goals, but you won’t get there if your health is compromised. It may be a cliché, but health is indeed wealth.

6 Basic Safety Measures You Can Do Amidst the COVID-19

A lot of safety measures have already been implemented both on the collective and individual levels to prevent the spread of the corona virus. And so below is a list of the five most important things to do at this moment to keep you healthy as you go through your IELTS exam preparation.

1. Always wear disposable surgical masks when going outside.

The virus is known to multiply through respiratory droplets and so with the proper surgical mask, you’ll prevent, or at least minimize, the entry of the virus into your body. You don’t need other masks like the N-95 which filters airborne particles. Ordinary surgical masks designed to filter droplets will do the job just fine.

2. ALWAYS wash your hands. ALWAYS sanitize yourself.

Even though it might be practical and easier to use alcohol to sanitize yourself, soap is still the best remedy in fighting the virus. Try to balance the use of these. Use alcohol once in a while when you’re outside and use soap frequently when at home—especially before and after eating.

3. DO NOT hoard supplies.

The COVID-19 war is not a battle you can fight alone. Hoarding all the supplies will not protect you if others can’t have them. Everyone must be protected for the virus to stop spreading and so all the supplies must be evenly distributed to everyone.

4. Avoid going out as much as possible. Practice social distancing.

This is pretty straightforward. Go out only if you need to buy supplies and other essentials or when you need to go to a hospital to get checked, if ever you have the symptoms. Avoid going to crowded places and always maintain a from other people.

And while you’re at home, it won’t hurt to continue with your IELTS exam preparation by reviewing or practicing tests. Be productive!

5. Always check for developments and updates in the news.

The news will update you about the current cases, new information to prevent the spread of the virus and other protocols issued by the government and other health organizations. So make sure to tune in to these updates regularly.

6. Be kind and give.

If you have more than enough of the essentials, it’s good to share these with the others, especially those who have none. Nothing big is being asked of you (but if you can why not!.) Little things like masks and food can be donated to the frontline health workers. You might also want to donate funds to organizations , local governments or private companies who will channel these to those who are in dire or urgent need.

Take Care of Yourself First. Take Your IELTS Exam Later.

Don’t stress yourself unnecessarily on your IELTS exam preparation and COVID-19. Things will get better in due time. Focus at the moment on keeping yourself healthy right now.
