JRooz IELTS Review Center teaches a lot of things that you will need in your job. One of which is how to ace an interview. There are many kinds of interviews, such as:

  • case interviews
  • group interviews
  • informal interviews
  • phone interviews
  • job interviews

Some people are afraid of just thinking about interviews. It is because of the question and answer portion and the introduction that you need to deliver properly. Interviews are nerve-wracking, and it can sometimes be hard to keep calm.

8 Know-How Guidelines For A Job Interview

That is why to help you with that challenge, check out some things you should say and not say in a job interview.

WHAT TO SAY IN AN INTERVIEW

       1.    Polite greeting
It is a must that you start your interview with a polite greeting. Your introduction must include expressing your gratitude towards the interviewers.

       2.    Convey that you are a team player
One question that may come up in your interview is about your strengths and weaknesses. Mention how you can help with the company by conveying that you are a team player.

       3.    Say why you want the job
Restating why you want the job will show how passionate you are for the job. It also shows that you are ready to learn more in your stay at the company.

       4.    Ending with gratefulness
Finishing up with a thank you note and gratefulness is the best way to end your interview.

WHAT NOT TO SAY IN AN INTERVIEW

       1.    Asking about having a flexible schedule
Do not ask your interviewers if they can adjust to your schedule; instead, let them ask you. When you have a job offer, it is okay to ask about your schedule, but not before the discussion.

       2.    Not knowing the company
It is mandatory that before you go to a job interview, you already know what the company is and what it does. Instead of asking your interviewers about their company, you could ask clarifying questions regarding them.

       3.    Not being too desperate
Saying that you will do whatsoever for the company is not a good thing to say in an interview. It is okay to be passionate about the job, but being too desperate may push away your interviewers.

       4.    Salary issues
Asking about your salary as your opening statement is the wrong way to start your interview. Indeed, salary is a concern that you must tackle, but it is a question saved for later.
